My First Solo Video Interview!

I’ve been busier than ever with the burgeoning theatre section of EF, so much so that I’ve had to turn down a lot of stuff on the basis that I can’t be in two or more places at once, and there are only so many hours in the week.

Thankfully, we’ve recently taken another theatre critic on board to help out. This doesn’t mean that I can sit back and relax, so much as that we can cover even more events. He’s already proving a big help!

Most excitingly, I conducted my first ever solo video interview, with actress Clare Cameron, using the fancy EF equipment. I’d done phone interviews before, and recorded interviews where somebody else took care of the recording equipment. This time, I had to worry about coordinating everything!

This involved Pip having to coach me the night before in how to use the camera, how to attach the bracket, light and microphone and how to ensure everything is working tickety-boo. Those who know me will realise what a challenge this would prove, since I am not fluent in the language of technology. Sweat of concentration gleamed on my knitted brow…

Thankfully Clare, whom we’d seen in ‘Love, Question Mark’; ‘Denial’ and ‘Someone to Blame’ couldn’t have been lovelier, and put me at my ease whilst I pieced together the jigsaw of gadgetry. I think the end result is a great interview, and I’d be confident to handle another on my own!

You can see the end result for yourself.
